This story is part of Amazon Prime Day 2021, CNET’s guide to everything you need to know and how to make sure you get the best deal.
Amazon Prime Day runs from June 21-22, it’s fast approaching us, but Amazon deals have already started, and now you can get really good prices on the web, even if they are not part of highly publicized sales events, such as Target sale days, Walmart deals for days or Best Buy’s Biggest Offering.
And it’s never too early to start shopping for a new router at a decent price. If you have been planning to upgrade to a home mesh system, a current generation Wi-Fi 6 router or a budget Wi-Fi 5 model, this may be the best time to search for some of the best deals you’ll find before Black Friday.
It is also a good time to think about updating if you and your family members will still be working from home for the near future or if someone in the household has become an avid gamer. The right router that is the quarterback of your home network can make a big difference.
I have a list of products that I repeatedly check that includes the products in our lists of best Wi-Fi routers, best mesh routers other best routers for gaming, because finding a great deal on a great router or mesh system is so much better.
You also won’t see any recommendations for little-known brands that tend to be popular on Amazon, because for the networking team, things like stability, privacy policies, and good customer service are must-haves that I’ve seen signs of very little of. . on the products I have checked. A deal is not a deal if you have thrown the router out the window. You can also find those that feature heavily on Amazon’s own listings if you’re interested.
I’ll update these recommendations regularly with all the best home networking deals we’ve seen on the web until the latest offering dissipates into the ether.

Although this entry-level router is about three years old, the Wi-Fi 5 standard it supports is even older, so nothing cutting edge will be missed. It has stood the test of time, and with features like four gigabit LAN connectors, a USB drive port for sharing content on your network, and an application for remote management, it delivers the essentials. The $ 55 price for this can’t be beat – B&H and Amazon apply a coupon when you add it to your cart, especially if you’re upgrading from an even older Wi-Fi 4 model. Occasionally it has been cheaper throughout your life, but not so much, it is worth waiting for another drop.
Like the TP-Link Archer A7, this is a meat and potatoes Wi-Fi 5 router, now available at an all-time low of $ 60; Wi-Fi 5 is a solid option if none of your devices support the newer Wi-Fi 6 standard. It has modern conveniences including a phone app to set up and control it, parental controls, remote access, and guest accounts.
It doesn’t support Wi-Fi 6, but the AC1200 version of the Netgear Orbi is still a solid and reliable mesh router, and it impressed us with surprisingly strong signal strength when we tested it at CNET Smart Home. Back then, we called the two-piece version of this system a great value at $ 129, and now it’s back to its Black Friday price for the three-piece version with an additional range extender for just $ 100 ($ 120). , with another $ 20 Coupon applied at checkout).
A three-piece mesh system like this is the best way to cover a large home with a stable and reliable Wi-Fi connection, and $ 100 is the lowest price you’ll ever see for a well-reviewed name. branded option that can cover a lot of ground like this.

$ 115 is not the lowest price ever for this entry-level gaming router, which is closer to $ 90, but still lower than it has been for a while, so it is possible that want to think about buying it, if not now, then during another sale season. The Nighthawk AX4 features a dual-core processor and support for 4X4 MU-MIMO connections to add faster speeds to devices with multiple antennas of their own.
This robust and versatile Wi-Fi 6 router is designed to cover the territory of a small or medium house (2,000 square feet) with four antennas that divide up to 4.2Gbps of bandwidth. And now Amazon has it for its lowest price of all time, not seen since last year’s Cyber Monday.
This esteemed Wi-Fi 6 mesh system can cover up to 7,500 square feet and handle more than 40 devices simultaneously, and you can get it for a very low price of $ 445 for the tri-band modem package with two satellites. It’s not quite as fast as the top-of-the-line Orbi AX6000 we tested (and we briefly found a good deal), but it’s also not that expensive, and we find the AX6000 overkill for many people anyway.
Expired Router Offers
There’s nothing particularly surprising about this dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router with the ability to cover roughly 2,500 square feet, but it’s a good choice if you know what you’re doing to tweak it for the best performance. And now it’s at an all-time lowest price of $ 192.

If you’re looking for a low-priced mesh system, the latest version of Amazon’s Eero Dual Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Router and Extender is a great option. It’s available now at an all-time lowest Prime Day sale price of $ 129. It’s not the fastest mesh router available, but it’s solid and the price can’t be beat.

Technically, you’re only saving about $ 8 on this already low-priced mesh system, even though it was $ 190 when it launched last year. It might not sound like much, but if you want TP-Link’s Deco X20 but don’t need a two-satellite setup, you’re actually saving around $ 128. The W3600 is just a one-satellite version of the two-satellite Deco X20 that It was intended as an exclusive offer from Walmart. So it’s strange that Home Depot has it at a lower price. Speeds are capped at 1,201Mbps on the 5GHz band of this inexpensive Amazon Alexa-compatible mesh, but it’s still significantly faster than the previous generation. Deco P9, which limited things to 867 Mbps.

If none of your devices are Wi-Fi 6 but you still have a lot of them competing for signals on your Wi-Fi 5 network, a tri-band router, with two 5 GHz bands, is the way to go. B&H has this one at a historic low price of $ 130: $ 190 plus a $ 60 coupon that applies when you add it to your cart.

The Asus RT-AX68U Wi-Fi 6 router won the Editors’ Choice in November, and this is the first time a price drop has been seen. $ 20 is not a big deal, but for a router we declared “Best Wi-Fi 6 router for the money”, just six months ago, it is just an added incentive.
It’s fast, full-featured, and easy to use, and even without the new Wi-Fi 6E, it feels future-proof enough with a WAN port that supports input speeds of up to 2.5Gbps.
