UPSC Civil Services 2021: Complete Strategy and Prep Tips for Preliminaries

Applicants should have a well-designed syllabus ready that allows them to cover the syllabus smoothly.

UPSC Civil Services 2021: Exams for UPSC Civil Services are coming up and for many Indians, the exams can be stressful as it is one of the most difficult exams to pass. Interested people prepare for months, even years in some cases. As every year, also this year thousands of applicants will take the exam. It should be noted that registrations have ended and the preliminaries are expected to begin on October 10 this year. The exam is usually done a bit earlier, but given the Covid-19 outbreak, the preliminaries will take place in October, providing additional preparation time for applicants for UPSC IAS 2021.

The preliminaries will have two roles. For Document I, indicative topics given include Geography, History, Economics, Politics, and more. For Paper-II, applicants will need to prepare for subjects like Interpersonal Skills, Communication, Decision Making, Aptitude and more. Anyone wishing to become an IAS officer will have to break through the preliminaries to get started.

Go the extra mile

This exam is unlike any other, and therefore preparing for the UPSC Civil Service will require additional effort. While preparing, the focus should be solely on the exam, and applicants are expected to go through a diverse amount of study materials.

Motto of a study plan

The curriculum covers various topics. Therefore, applicants should have a well-designed syllabus ready that allows them to cover the syllabus smoothly. Each indicative topic should be covered according to the study schedule and study milestones established. Candidates should honestly stick to the plan and ensure that no part of the syllabus is missed.

To be sure, the exam is detailed in a way that a mere cursory reading is not enough to break the exam and secure additional grades. To get the top spot on the civil service personnel selection lists, applicants must have a thorough understanding of each and every concept expected on the exam. Therefore, there is a risk of a negative mark.

There will be many sample articles, question banks, and other guides available on the market for your preparations. Candidates are also encouraged to refer to the IAS question papers for the past few years. This will allow them to understand how the document may arrive and will also be able to identify a number of important information.

Aside from this, applicants are required to take full mock tests for the upcoming UPSC Civil Service Preliminary Exam. To improve overall numbers and time management capabilities, IAS mock test resolution can be quite useful. Self-study is crucial at an extensive level along with memorizing important facts and figures as well as clear understanding of important concepts.
