Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games | Do not pressure athletes, insists Narinder Batra

IOA President Narinder Batra insisted on not putting too much pressure on the athletes, as he is confident that they will return after a successful outing. The official will be present with the athletes for the entirety of the Olympic Games and will ensure that the athletes’ stay there is comfortable.

The first group of Indian athletes has already landed in the land of the rising sun for the long-awaited Olympics, with many of everyone’s expectations. However, IOC (Indian Olympic Association) President Narinder Batra insisted on not putting too much pressure on the athlete as he is sure he will return after a successful start.

“On the medals I will say what the prime minister said, don’t put any pressure. Just give your 100 percent and I’m sure the athletes will come back in glory,” Narinder Batra said, as reported by India Today.

The official will remain in Tokyo throughout the mega event and will ensure that the Indian contingent’s stay is comfortable. The athletes returned with two medals from the last edition, in Rio, with PV Sindhu claiming a silver medal and Sakshi winning a bronze. The Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games begin on July 23 and will conclude on August 8.
