The recently closed year-end Flea Market at Palacio de Memoria was another huge success. With more shopkeepers and families in attendance, following the declaration of the IATF Commemorative Level 2 in Metro Manila last November 5, the event showcased a true holiday atmosphere and excitement, enriching the spirit of European street culture.
On its opening day on November 6th, the event’s operations were extended to 6pm as the flea market’s number of guests reached over 130. The Galleria de Gunita was also attended by more than 160 guests, all of whom came for a pleasant picnic experience. , complete with a wide selection of food baskets and grazing boxes from Apéritif Manille, Run Rabbit Run, Cocktail Bar Manila and The Loggia. Music by Local Sun, Bins and Emel Rowe also fills the afternoon with a relaxing weekend atmosphere in the spacious Palacio gardens. Meanwhile, on November 7th, European culture lovers were treated to a relaxing session of cocktail mixing by Don Papa Rum’s Open Bar, and cigar carving and rolling at Cigar Bar by Tabaclera Incorporada.
The event’s Art, Antiques and Retail Exhibition also attracted more visitors as it featured a wider and dynamic mix of merchants including Travelfund, Mark Bumgarner, Sassa Jimenez, Store One, ZOE, Etniko Pilipino, PhilHHDA, Vidro, Fiori di Marghi, Rue Angelique, Casa Mercedes, Rafikimono, Betina, RHM, Kassa, Brando Arts & Antiques, Fren, and SENSASI. Pet grooming brand Presidential Paws was also added to the list this time around to cater for the many furry friends who also graced the weekend with their families.
Sponsored by Smart Infinity, the two-day event held in the courtyard of the mansion in Parañaque City provided guests with a safe and relaxed community environment as the organizers adhered to strict health protocols such as vaccination proof checks, temperature checks and onsite social distancing.
For those who missed the event, the Galleria de Gunita will return in December 2021, while the Flea Market is scheduled to run its fifth time in January 2022. The Palacio de Memoria is open throughout the holiday season for guests seeking a short cultural trip within the city. Metro.
