The Indian markets, NSE and BSE, will not see trading on Thursday, August 19, 2021. According to the EEB 2021 trading holiday list, there will be no action on the NSE and BSE on Thursday because of Muharram. There will be no trading in the equity, equity derivative and SLB segments due to today’s festival, the BSE holiday listing showed.

There are up to 14 holidays in 2021. The next holiday on which there will be no transactions on BSE and NSE is September 10, 2021, when the market will be closed due to Ganesh Chaturthi.
Also on October 15, the equity segment, the equity derivatives segment and the SLB segments on NSE, BSE will remain inactive due to Dussehra. However, in November, the stock market will be closed three times: Diwali (November 4,2021), Diwali Balipratipada (November 5,2021) and Gurunanak Jayanti (November 19,2021).
Meanwhile, those who trade in raw materials should know that the Commodity Exchange (MCX) will remain open in the second half of the session (from 5:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. / 11:55 p.m.). The Indian Multi-Product Exchange will be closed for the first time between 9 am and 5 pm.
Likewise, the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) will remain closed during the morning session between 9 am and 5 pm and will resume its operations from 5 pm to 9 pm, closing time of this exchange.
Earlier on Friday, the benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed in the red with the former losing 162 points and then more than 45 points to give a close of 555,629.49 and 16,568.85, respectively.
