Following the recent announcement that Mike Richards and Mayim Bialik will alternate hosting duties on “Jeopardy!” Richards was embroiled in a scandal over some sexist comments he made on a podcast in 2014.
The ringer reported that Richards, joking with a woman during his podcast “The Randumb Show,” ventured into some controversial areas when he asked her if she had any nude photos on her phone to show her “pikemen “.

Other offensive comments included the observation that one-piece bathing suits made women look “really scruffy and overweight”, along with comments about Haitians and Jews along with various other sexist comments; the podcast episodes were later withdrawn from circulation.
Later, Richards sent a memo to “Jeopardy!” employees apologizing for their comments.
“It is humiliating to face a terribly shameful moment of misjudgment, thoughtlessness and callousness almost a decade ago. Looking back now, there is of course no excuse for the comments I made on this podcast and I am deeply sorry. The podcast was intended to be a series of irreverent conversations between longtime friends who had a history of pranks, “Richards wrote in the memo, which was posted on Twitter.

“Even with the passage of time, it is more than clear that my attempts to be funny and provocative were not acceptable, and I have removed the episodes. My responsibilities today as a father, husband and a public figure speaking to many people through my role on television mean that I have substantial and serious role model obligations, and I intend to live up to them. “
