Microsoft adds ‘portrait mode’ feature to PowerPoint for iPhone

Microsoft has added a new feature – ‘Portrait Mode’ in PowerPoint for iPhone and iPad users so they can easily switch between portrait and landscape mode when creating new slides.

“With a shift toward mobile-first content creation, many of you have told us you prefer to do it in portrait mode. Based on your feedback, we’ve added the ability to switch (enter) and exit portrait mode when both creating and editing slides,” Microsoft said in a blog post.

To use this feature on iPad, users need to open an existing presentation or create one, tap the Layout tab, then select Orientation, then select Portrait, and the slide will change to Portrait orientation.

iPhone users will need to open an existing presentation or create one, then on the Home tab, tap Layout, then Orientation, and finally select Portrait, and the focused slide will change to Portrait, according to the blog post.

Earlier this month, Microsoft released a new feature for Office Insiders that allows users to add images from their Android phone to the web-based Word and Powerpoint.

To get started, users need to select Insert, Images, and Mobile Device.

To link your Android device to the system, scan the QR code provided under Mobile Device and follow the instructions on the screen.
