Maitreyi Ramakrishnan Explains Why She Had ‘Anxiety’ Before Starting Work On ‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 2

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is getting candid about the fear she felt before filming season 2 of “Never Have I Ever.”

The first series of the hit Netflix show aired in 40 million households during the first 28 days of its launch.

“In fact, I think that season 1 was a fluke and that now I am a terrible actress and I am going to disappoint my cast.” admitted the Mississauga native, while speaking with ET Canada.

“I’m going to disappoint Mindy (Kaling) and Lang (Fisher) and they are all going to hate me. My career is over, I’m on the Hollywood blacklist and it’s done, ”he continued.

However, co-creators Kaling and Fisher managed to convince the young star otherwise.

“They’d tell me, ‘You’re destined for this role,” he recalled. “This is where you should be. You are a good actress and we would tell you if you suck. So after all that anxiety, we were having fun. Then we said, ‘Yes, let’s play!’ “

“Never Have I Ever” is now streaming on Netflix.
