Michigan Wolverines head coach Juwan Howard has made it clear that he has no intention of leaving Ann Arbor.
From the looks of it, Michigan Wolverines basketball fans have absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to Juwan Howard’s future with the team. That’s because the team legend doesn’t plan to go anywhere.
With multiple starts in the NBA, including the Boston Celtics, Howard is gaining a lot of attention. However, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Howard continues to let teams know that he is more than happy with Michigan and that his heart is in Ann Arbor.
Juwan Howard has made it pretty clear that he wants to stay in Michigan for a long time.
While making the leap from the college game to the pros would seem like a no-brainer to most, things are different here for Howard. He was a Michigan superstar and feels nothing but love for his alma mater. He has said time and again that training the Wolverines has been a dream come true for him.
So that’s probably why turning down more money to coach in the NBA isn’t too difficult a decision for him. Howard and his assistants continue to kill outright on the draft route, and the Wolverines are expected to make a lot of noise next season.
Howard has some unfinished business to attend to in the 2021-22 campaign, with the Wolverines hoping to win the Big Ten title and then embark on a serious run in the NCAA Tournament next spring. While some people were concerned that Howard might leave campus sometime this offseason, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Howard is more than happy in his old grounds.
