The first pet has sadly passed away and POTUS and FLOTUS paid tribute to their beloved dog. Joe biden and Jill Biden are mourning the passing of their eldest cub and took to social media to remember and honor Champ after his death at the honorable age of 13.

The post also says that “ Even when Champ’s strength waned in his final months, when we all walked into a room, he would immediately get up, wagging his tail, to stroke us for a scratch on his ear or a rub on his belly. Wherever we were, he wanted to be too, and everything instantly improved when he was by our side. He liked nothing better than curling up at our feet in front of the fire at the end of the day, or joining us as a comforting presence during meetings, or just basking in the sun on the White House lawn. ”
As you may know, Champ came into their lives in 2008, right after Biden was elected vice president.

Apparently, at the time, he promised Jill that he would give them a puppy if Barack Obama won the election.
Sure enough, that’s exactly what happened and Joe Biden delivered on his promise, acquiring Champ when he was just 3 months old from a breeder in Pennsylvania.
Obama also made the same promise to his daughters and Michelle’s.
That’s when the former POTUS got his first pet dog, Bo, who also sadly passed away in May this year, at the age of 12.
