Facebook-owned Instagram announced Wednesday that it is testing people’s ability to collaborate on news posts and reels called ‘Collab’ in India.
With ‘Collab’, you can invite a contributor to your Feed Post and Reels so they can share the content with their followers.
If they accept, they will be shown as the author, the content will be shared with their profile grid and with their followers on the feed, and both will see their shared comments.
“India is between the two countries where it will be tested for the first time,” the photo-sharing platform said in a blog post.
The company has also explained how it works.
Upload a feed post or create a reel as you normally would. When you get to the bottom of the sharing screen, you will see the option “Tag People”.
By clicking “Tag People”, you can now invite a contributor by clicking “Invite Contributor”.
Now you can search for an account and add it as a contributor. Please note that the account will need to accept your invitation.
Only public accounts that are receiving the test experience can be invited to ‘Collab’ / co-author.
After the account has accepted the collaboration invitation, they will be added to the tag screen and will also be noted in the header of your post.
