Fantasy Waiver Wire Week 11: Cam Newton, Wayne Gallman among the top free agent pickups

Hopefully, you won’t need reinforcements heading into the coming week because of us Top 11 week fantasy abandon wire pickup and free agent added is a pretty rough group. Sure, there are some potential difference makers in RB (Rhammondre Stevenson, D’Onta Foreman, Wayne Gallman), if even for a week, and an old favorite in QB (Cam Newton) which could turn back time for some matches. Overall, however, most of this week’s picks will be targeted as free agents nach waivers removed around 4-5 am ET on Wednesday morning on Yahoo and ESPN leagues.

Our complete list of free agents does feature some interesting depth cuts, like the WRS Rashod Bateman, Jamal Agnew, Van Jefferson, or Marcus Johnson, TE Dan Arnold or Tyler Conklin, or handcuffing RB like Chuba Hubbard or Jeff Wilson Jr. While they’re not “must haves,” they could come in handy at some point in the future. That includes the near future, which is why we also have plenty of Week 11 streamer suggestions on QB, WR, TE, and D/ST. As usual, it can be found at end of this list. If you’re one of those weirdos who likes to see kick lists, check us out Kicker ranking week 11.

MORE WEEK 11: Complete ignore list

Last week, we saw several developments (Nick Chubb test positive for COVID, news of Alvin Kamara’s knee injury) changing the landscape of wire abandonment through Tuesday afternoon. Watch out for a similar situation this week. Currently, there are no clear pickups worth claiming. Stevenson loses value if Damien Harris (concussion) has to return, and the odds of committee people like Jordan Howard, Foreman, and Gallman have limited limits. If you don’t need RB this week, then you might be better off saving your high claims for inevitable future injuries or important bands.

STANDARD RATING WEEK 11:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | D / ST | kicker

Top fantasy football abandonment wire picks for Week 11

Unless otherwise stated, only players owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo’s leagues are considered.

Cam Newton, QB, Panther. Newton contributed two short TDs in Week 10 and proudly announced that he was “back.” That’s probably true for fantasy purposes too. We’re not going to overlook how bad it was to watch Newton with the Patriots last year, but he ran 592 yards and 12 TD last year in 15 starts. Part of his game remains constant. With better receivers all around, Newton’s chances of returning to QB1 are high every week. He’ll be taking up most of the first-team reps in training this week, suggesting he’s likely to start on Week 11 against the Washington defense that allowed the most fantasy points per game to QB. Newton is a high-upside streamer with a lot of future value potential.

Wayne Gallman, RB, Falcons. Cordarrelle Patterson picked up an ankle injury in Week 10, opening the door for Gallman to operate on a committee with Mike Davis against the Patriots on Thursday night. Gallman had 15 carry for 55 yards and one catch for 21 yards against the Cowboys in Week 10, though his workload may be more of a reflection of Atlanta blowing up. We’re still hoping for Davis to be the “leader back” in Week 11, but if Patterson is out a few weeks, Gallman could definitely have value in Week 12 against Jacksonville.

MORE WEEK 11: Complete ignore list

Van Jefferson, WR, Rams. Jefferson was second at the Rams on target (7) and received yards (54) on Monday night. It wasn’t a banner game, but he dropped what should have been an easy touchdown that would have really improved his outlook in the post-Robert Woods (knee) era. Although we can expect Odell Beckham Jr. to receive more targets next time, Jefferson could easily still be No. 2 wide receivers. Even though the Rams offense has been stuttering lately, the role will result in a steady amount of fantasy points after LA’s Week 11 bye.

WEEK 11 PPR RATINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | D / ST | kicker

Jeff Wilson Jr., RB, 49ers. JWJ was active in Week 10 but got no touch. In Week 11, he clearly became No. 2 behind Elijah Mitchell, shot 10 times. He only got 28 yards, but Wilson Jr. are priority handcuffs for stretching runs. Not only would he be invaluable if Mitchell missed another time, but he could also have flexible value that stands alone in the right fights – like next week against Jacksonville or Week 13 against Seattle.

Logan Thomas, TE, Washington. We thought Thomas (hamstring) would play last week, but he’s not ready to go out on the pitch yet. With Ricky Seals-Jones picking up a hip injury last week, it’s possible that Washington is under pressure to get Thomas back this week against Carolina. Either way, Thomas will have value when he returns, so if he’s available on your wire, grab him now. If for now other reasons, you don’t want him to land on future opponents.

For additional free waiver/agent advice, including Rhammondre Stevenson, D’Onta Foreman, Rashod Bateman, and more ribbons, check us out Week 11 full list.
