It’s no secret that Disneyland has been reviewing the experience of the theme parks we all know and love in 2021. Since the new year, Disney Parks canceled their annual pass programs, introduced a new tiered ticket pricing system, and recently They announced a new reservation: based annual passes. Next on the list of changes: Disneyland and Walt Disney World announced on August 18 that they will be remove FastPass, FastPass + and MaxPass programs in favor of a new Disney Genie service It will charge park visitors extra for the perks that many families have come to depend on. Read on to learn more about the new Disney Genie and Disney Genie + services before they go into effect this fall.
What’s included with the basic Disney Genie service?
Disney Genie is a free planning tool that will automatically be included in My Disney Experience and the Disneyland app at no additional cost. The service will provide a new custom itinerary feature that recommends attractions, restaurants, and entertainment options based on guest interests. Itineraries will continue to be updated throughout the day to allow flexibility in planning and show expected wait times for specific attractions. Disney Genie will also help guests order food, make reservations, secure spots in virtual ride queues, and get help from a virtual assistant. Attractions such as Rise of the Resistance, Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, and the upcoming Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will continue to have virtual paid and non-paid queues, as well as traditional queues.
What’s included with Disney Genie + at Disneyland?
Like the MaxPass, Genie + will allow park visitors to choose specific arrival times, skip lines, and enter via new Lightning Lanes (also known as FastPass lanes) for 15 select attractions, including Haunted Mansion and Millenium Falcon. . Disneyland’s Genie + service will also provide augmented reality photo glasses and unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads. Unlike MaxPass, Genie + services will only be available to park visitors for a fee of $ 20 per ticket per day at Disneyland.
What’s included with Disney Genie + at Disney World?
Available for $ 15 per ticket per day at Walt Disney World, Genie + will give park guests the opportunity to skip the lines, use Lightning Lanes and choose arrival times for 40 select attractions throughout the park. While Walt Disney World’s Genie + service does not include PhotoPass, Disney hotel guests will be able to reserve return times and a la carte options starting at 7 am daily. Additionally, Genie + can be purchased prior to any park visit, but cannot be added to annual passes.
What’s included with Disney’s Lightning Lanes?
While pricing for the new Lightning Lanes has yet to be released, visitors will be limited to two Lightning Lanes per day. Additionally, spots in line can only be reserved on the day of a park visit, a rule that applies to Disney resort guests, annual pass holders, and magic key holders. Disneyland and Walt Disney World will also offer individual access to the Lightning Lane charter sold separately from the Genie + service for attractions such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Radiator Springs Racers and other attractions with virtual queues.
