SPOILERS: This story contains the answer to Wordle puzzle 324 from May 9th.
Did you get a different response to your daily Wordle on Monday? You are not alone.
The New York Times said it updated the response to Wordle 324 due to its link to a significant news event.
“Some users may see an outdated response that appears to be closely related to a recent major news event.” the New York Times Games said in a statement Monday. “This is completely unintentional and coincidental – today’s original answer was uploaded to Wordle last year.”
Players must refresh their browsers to see the updated response.

Several users on Twitter noted that while some people got “glow” as a response to Monday’s Wordle, others got “foetus.”
Wordle’s original response came days after a draft Supreme Court opinion was leaked that suggested the justices could overturn the landmark Roe v. Calf.
The New York Times Games said that they discovered “fetus” as a possible answer last week and worked to replace it with an updated answer for as many players as possible.
“We take our role as a place to entertain and escape seriously, and we want Wordle to stay distinct from the news,” the company said in a statement. “But due to current Wordle technology, it can be difficult to change words that have already been loaded into the game.”
This is not the first time that Wordle has introduced a daily puzzle with multiple answers. In March, the Wordle newspaper featured the answers “stove” and “harry.” The New York Times updated the puzzle to “stove” as part of an effort to remove “obscure or potentially insensitive words”.
